A Bayville man was arrested in Roslyn Heights on Friday at 11:57 p.m. after fleeing officers and violating traffic laws in what was discovered to be a stolen vehicle, Nassau County Police said.

Thomas Hogya, 36, of Bayville, was driving a blue BMW X1 westbound on Northern Boulevard in Roslyn when officers flashed lights for him to pull over, police said.

Hogya refused to pull over and headed southbound on Mineola Avenue, police said.

He was stopped on Oakdale Road and placed into custody after a struggle with officers, police said.

Police said the car Hogya was driving was reported stolen the day before from a Locust Valley resident.

Hogya was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, unlawful fleeing of a police officer, reckless driving, resisting arrest, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and multiple traffic law violations.

Judge Tricia Ferrell adjourned the Hogya’s case during his arraignment on Sunday. Hogya is held on bail of $1,000 cash or bond.

He is due back in court on Wednesday.
