A drunken driver killed a Washington Heights man in a crash on the Northern State Parkway in Roslyn Heights Monday night, New York State police said.
Juan Collado, 61, was traveling west in his vehicle near exit 29A when Queens resident Silvia Ibanez, 42, struck him from behind around 10:15 p.m. Monday, state police said.
Collado died as a result of his injuries sustained during the accident. State police did not say whether he died at the scene of the crash.
Ibanez was also seriously hurt in the crash and is being treated at North Shore University Hospital. She was arraigned at the hospital on Tuesday on charges of driving while intoxicated and second-degree vehicular manslaughter.
