Candi Miletic said she wasn’t sure if the stay-at-home mom job was for her.

Miletic, a mother of three boys, 6-year-old Aiden, 3-year-old Ethan and 2-year-old Bradley, temporarily left her job as an underwriting manager for a commercial insurance company after her second son was born and said she fell in love with the lifestyle.

Raising three boys, Miletic said, means lots of cooking, lots of birthday parties and not a lot of time, so she took to the internet for tips and tricks for making birthday cakes for her sons or recipes perfect for child and adult palates.

About two months ago, Miletic started the lifestyle blog CandiGrams.net which she said she plans to fill with tips on fashion, cooking, crafting, party planning and more geared at other women and mothers.

“I’m a mom of three boys, so I feature recipes that are easy to cook while your kids are pulling at you,” Miletic said.

To celebrate the new endeavor, Athleta at Americana Manhasset is hosting a launch party for the blog at 7 p.m. Monday, complete with wine, small snacks, raffles and party favors as well as a cupcake recipe Miletic will demonstrate for the evening.

Also on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest, Miletic recently expanded the brand into an Etsy shop after people asked if she was selling any of the crafts advertised on the blog.

Miletic, who is a former president of the Manhasset Plandome Newcomers Club and is currently involved with the Manhasset Mothers Group, said she had contemplated the idea of starting the blog for months before she took the leap, and she was inspired by a book she was reading one night.

“This tiny business part is starting to develop and I didn’t expect this to happen for a long time,” Miletic said. “This is what that book was saying: just start and it will go where it’s going to go.”

Miletic said many of her posts have been focused on crafting but she plans to expand the fashion and beauty section of the blog soon as well as the food and drink posts to include more homemade ideas.

“I would really love to have it be a little more interactive, getting feedback from people trying recipes with what changes they made and what worked for them,” Miletic said.
