Metropolitan Commercial Bank, a full-service commercial bank that opened its first Long Island location in Great Neck in December, recently delivered a $2,500 check donation to the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.

“Supporting programs like Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is representative of Metropolitan Commercial Bank’s commitment to developing mutually rewarding, long-term relationships with the communities we serve,” Metropolitan Commercial President and CEO Mark DeFazio said. “Our partnership with the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is part of our pledge to be a good neighbor and a trusted resource for Great Neck and the surrounding communities.”

In celebration of its opening, Metropolitan Commercial announced Nov. 13 they would hold a toy drive at its 111 Great Neck Road location where they will accept unopened children’s toys and gifts that they will be donating to the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.

As part of the donation efforts, Metropolitan Commercial Senior Vice President and Head of Retail Banking Laura Capra said the bank would match up to $10,000 in cash donations to purchase additional gifts.

The bank had employees at the bank from Nov. 30 to Dec. 23 to collect donated items.

The donated toys were delivered to sick children at the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park around Christmas time, according to a press release.

Ronald McDonald House of Long Island President Matthew Campo said he wanted to continue the partnership with Metropolitan Commercial and continue community initiatives such as the toy drive.

“We’re proud to have Metropolitan Commercial Bank as one of our partners in helping us serve families of seriously ill children who come to us from Long Island and around the world,” Campo said. “Only with the support of organizations like Metropolitan Commercial Bank can we bring hope and care to these brave children and their families.”

The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, which is celebrating its 30th year on Long Island, houses 18,000 families of sick children from 80 countries, according to the release.

Established in 1999, Metropolitan Commercial has $910 million in total assets and more than 1 million ATM’s available to clients at no cost, according to its website.
