Mineola’s Lepre wins language honor

Christopher D. Lepre, son of Donna and Egidio Lepre of Mineola, was named the recipient of The H. Samuel Slater Prize in Romance Languages at Hamilton College’s annual Class and Charter Day, held on May 13.

The H. Samuel Slater Prize in Romance Languages, established in memory of his father-in-law, H. Samuel Slater, by Milton P. Kayle, Class of 1943 and a former trustee of the college, is awarded to a student who, at the end of the sophomore year, has excelled in the study of a romance language.

Lepre, a sophomore majoring in computer science and French, is a graduate of The Wheatley School.
