Beginnings: Chicago Tribute will be performing Saturday, Aug. 10, 8 p.m. in Steppingstone Park. This is a tribute band that has entertained audiences all over the country with their homage to the music of the 1970’s band Chicago.

With eight talented musicians and featuring a four-piece horn section, this band will deliver an electrifying performance of Chicago hits such as “Twenty-five or Six to Four, “Saturday in the Park,” “Just You ‘N Me,” and “Baby, What a Big Surprise.” Beginnings will walk you through the hits of four decades with energy and precision.

A concert starring Iranian-born KamyR will be taking place at North Hempstead Park in partnership with the Town of North Hempstead, town Supervisor Jon Kaiman, town Councilwoman Anna Kaplan and Commissioner Jennifer Fava, on Sunday, Aug. 11 at 8 p.m.

In 2003, KamyR arrived in Los Angeles in order to pursue his music career and found success as the new lead singer of the popular Persian band called Black Cats. With his unique style of Persian R&B and his ability to sing in over seven languages, KamyR became an overnight music sensation in the Persian community.

Through mixing R&B with Middle Eastern scales and techniques, KamyR has been able to cross over into the international market. He has had the opportunity to perform with some of his biggest influences, most notably his idol Stevie Wonder. KamyR’s debut album “DOBAREH,” was released worldwide in November 2010 and received critical acclaim for bringing an international sound to the Persian music industry and breaking the traditional barriers of conventional Persian pop.

At the heart of his success is the belief that a true artist is humble, spiritual, respectful, and above all, never forgets where he came from and the path that led him to realizing his dreams.
