A Nassau County police officer was injured in a struggle with a Laurelton man in Manhasset after he fled from a traffic stop, police said.

Brandon Moore, 24, of Laurelton, Queens, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree assault, criminal possession of marijuana and several traffic violations.

During his arraignment Thursday, he was given a $50,000 bail.

Police said officers stopped a 2002 BMW near 100 Community Drive in Manhasset for a traffic violation where Moore attempted to flee on foot.

A county police officer suffered a shoulder injury during the brief pursuit, police said, and the officer was taken to the hospital for treatment.

After the arrest, police said, they found a pound of marijuana and a loaded handgun in the BMW.
