New Hyde Park resident Peter Gong is pictured with his granddaughter Abigail and Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano at the annual Nassau County Veterans Tribute barbecue recently held at Eisenhower Park. Gong is a Vietnam War veteran and a member of the Honor Guard, 11th Regiment, U.S. Volunteers of America, who attended the barbeque. They were joined by armored elements of the Museum of American Armor, now under construction at Old Bethpage Village Restoration, where nearly 30 operational military vehicles will be on display.
