NXT GEN Fitness gives $4K to Port schools

NXT GEN Fitness and Performance program director John Cirilo said the fitness center were merely backing action with words when it recently donated $3,966 to the Port Washington school district.

“Here at NXT GEN Fitness we believe that being a community supporter of our schools and athletes means that we have to put our money where our mouth is,” Cirilo said. “Therefore, it is our company policy to refund a percentage of all team training and rental proceeds back to each of the teams.”

The donation made by the fitness center, which is located at 2 Channel Drive in Port Washington, is intended to help purchase equipment, uniforms, or sponsor less fortunate athletes.

Even though the check was made out to the Port Washington School district, he said, he received confirmation from a member of the school board that the donation will go towards the baseball team.

Cirilo said he came up with the idea of donating the proceeds to the Port Washington school district.

He said that as the fitness center’s program director he feels it’s important to bring to life the mission and vision of his business partner and gym owners, Adam and Evy Cirker.

“It was their dream to build NXT GEN Fitness for one sole purpose, to help athletes of ages maximize their personal potential and professional excellence,” Cirilo said. “Sharing our proceeds is one example of their vision.”

NXT GEN Fitness and Performance Training also supports local youth organizations in Manhasset and Roslyn through sponsorships, he said.
