Marianne Dalmonte, the executive director of the Business Improvement District, loves Port Washington and wants other to share that love. To draw visitors to the peninsula, Dalmonte started Restaurant Week in 2015 to give people the chance to experience the area and sample its food.

Now in its third year, Restaurant Week in Port Washington will be held from Sunday, Oct. 15, through Sunday, Oct. 22.

“What we’re trying to do is showcase our community, get people coming who are not residents,” Dalmonte said. “But it also gives residents the opportunity to try a restaurant if they haven’t or go back to one of their favorite spots.”

This year, 22 restaurants will participate, covering a range of cuisine from Asian, Italian, Middle Eastern, French, Irish and Latin American to standard American fare. Each of the participating restaurants will offer a three-course meal for a fixed price of $25.

Dalmonte said she had eaten at all 22 restaurants, but was excited for visitors to try the new restaurants that have popped up since last year.

“The Wild Goose, La P’tite Framboise Bistro is new, Port Thai is new,” she said. “I am very excited about them joining us, and hopefully next year there will be even more.”

Dalmonte said she believed that visitors to restaurants might return to shop.

“Surrounding communities will come into town to dine, and they might see a storefront that looks interesting,” she said. “And then two weeks later they will come back and see what it’s like inside.”

A full list of the participating restaurants and the menus that will be available at each establishment during Restaurant Week can be found at portwashingtonbid.org/restaurant-week.
