The Roslyn Water District on Thursday introduced a $4,426,924 budget for 2015 that later this year will go before the Town of North Hempstead for approval.

The budget is $62,915 more than appropriated for 2014, with $1,478,369 going toward supply, power and pumping; $918,297 going toward transmission and distribution;  $197,500 toward water treatment and purification; $633,568 toward water administration costs; and $935,525 in retirement and medical benefits, according to the water district’s budget document.

The district will look to raise $1,955,069 in revenues, with $112,069 coming from unmetered water sales and $16,000 in penalty charges. Commissioners have also estimated that metered water sales will rise $20,000, from $1,640,000 in 2014 to $1,660,000 in 2015.

The district set its total tax levy at $1,929,478, a slight increase from the $1,929,451 budgeted for 2014, due to a bump in the total tax levy  for Class I residential properties.

Tax rates for Class II, III and IV properties dropped from 2014 to 2015, commissioners said.
