A Nassau County Traffic safety coordinator will inspect car seats and provide free hands-on advice to parents and caregivers from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 19 at the Mineola Village Hall at 155 Washington Avenue.
Parents are encouraged to call (516) 571-6209 to make an appointment.
“We must do all we can to protect our children when on the road,” Nassau County Legislative Deputy Presiding Officer Richard Nicolello said. “The proper installation of a child’s car seat is critical to ensuring safety in a vehicle. Take this opportunity to let a professional make sure your child seat is safely installed in your vehicle.”
Because of the limited amount of appointments available, for families that are unable to schedule an appointment on June 19, Nicolello reminded residents that this service is offered year-round by appointment at the Nassau County Fitting Station in Hicksville.
