An Elmont man has been arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in over-the-counter medication at Target stores across Nassau County in the past several months, according to Nassau County police.

According to detectives, Dean Leipsner, 57, of 1312 Appeal Ave., was responsible for numerous larcenies that occurred between Oct. 19, 2020, and Jan. 12 in Target stores in Port Washington, Westbury, Valley Stream and Levittown.

Police said that Leipsner was located at his last known address and was placed under arrest for thefts of over-the-counter medication that totaled in excess of $3,500, though a date of the arrest was not given.

Leipsner is charged with grand larceny in the third degree and three counts of petit larceny. He was arraigned on Monday, when it was announced he was being defended by the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County, and will next appear in Nassau’s First District Court on Feb. 1.
