The first store in the new Crossroads Plaza in Greenvale opened this weekend to a crowd of customers anxiously awaiting the arrival of the largest beauty retailer in the country.

Ulta Beauty at 25 Glen Cove Road held a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday morning, filling the parking lot of the new shopping center.

Inside the 5,000-square-feet store, customers were greeted with opening day coupons, salon discounts and exclusive discounts on eye shadow palettes, lipsticks and more.

General manager Jillian SantaMaria said the store is smaller than most Ulta Beauty shops, which typically are about 10,000 square feet, but still offers a laundry list of makeup, skin care, fragrances and hair care products as well as top-of-the-line blowdryers, curling irons, brushes and more.

“It brings all things beauty to one place,” SantaMaria said. “This is the first location on the North Shore, and customers were so happy to hear we’re finally opening.”

Ulta Beauty is known for its high end products, but SantaMaria said some forget the store offers more than shopping.

Ulta Beauty also houses a full-service salon and Benefit brow bar. The salon has a humber of stylists for haircuts, hair coloring, highlights, blowouts and deep conditioning treatments alongside a licensed esthetician for facials and microderm abrasions, SantaMaria said.

The brow bar, sponsored by Benefit Cosmetics, performs any facial waxing and recently added brow tinting to its services menu.

“We strive to give the best service you can get,” SantaMaria said. “I love that we make people feel beautiful and confident.”

The store caters to men and women, SantaMaria said, offering skin care and hair care products specifically for men as well as a “color camo” salon service for men looking to cover gray hair.

The outdoor shopping center, owned by Golda Realty LLC, is a $17 million project across the street from Wheatley Plaza. The 30,000-square-foot center is divided into two retail buildings with a parking lot between the shops.

The remaining space in the shopping center has been leased and will be adding high-end retailers and a medical office in the spring.
