Nearly 400 people gathered at the North Hempstead Country Club to attend the 8th Annual Night in White Gala to benefit Spectrum Designs, a merchandising design company that employs individuals with autism.
Funds raised from the evening go to further Spectrum Designs’ mission to provide gainful employment and meaningful work opportunities to individuals with autism within a social enterprise. Steve and Lori Scrobe were honored for their long-term commitment and support of Spectrum Designs, the Nicholas Center and the families to which it serves.
“Due to the success of our model, 100 percent of dollars raised goes towards advancement and expansion of the Nicholas Center and Spectrum Designs, Bakes and Suds”, says Patrick Bardsley, co-founder of the Nicholas Center and Spectrum Designs and CEO of Spectrum Designs.
Attendees grooved to the sounds of Alive N’ Kickin with notable guests including Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth, state Sen. Elaine Philips, county legislator Delia Rigg-Whitton, and Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas.
The Scrobes’ son Billy is an employee at Spectrum Designs and has known co-founder Stella Spanakos’s son, Nicholas, since they were 5-years old attending the Manhasset Public School.
