North Hempstead partners with Long Island Nets to host Summer in the Park Basketball clinics

The Town of North Hempstead has announced it will once again partner with the Long Island Nets to host five free basketball clinics throughout the Town this summer.

“The Long Island Nets continue to be truly wonderful partners to us here at the Town of North Hempstead,” said North Hempstead Town Supervisor Bosworth. “We are extremely appreciative of their passion for and dedication to our children and families, and I thank them for once again hosting what has turned into an incredibly popular series of basketball clinics. It is our hope that our children will take advantage of all that the Long Island Nets have to offer.”

Clinics are designed for children, pre-registration is required, and attendees must be residents of the Town of North Hempstead.

Clinics will include:

Saturday, June 12 from 11:30 to 1 p.m. at the “Yes We Can” Community Center (141 Garden Street, Westbury) a clinic for children ages 6-13.

Saturday, June 12 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the “Yes We Can” Community Center (141 Garden Street, Westbury) a NETS-FIT event for children ages 13-17.

Saturday, June 26 at 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Petrus Park (1390 Port Washington Blvd, Port Washington) for children ages 6-13. Rain date: Sunday, June 27

Saturday, July 24 at 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Broadway Park (151 Broadway, Garden City Park) for children ages 6-13. Rain date: Sunday, July 25

Friday, August 13 at 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Whitney Pond Park (981 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset) for children ages 6-13. Rain date: Saturday, August 14

Date to be announced (check the Town’s website) September 2021 at Donald Street Park (Donald Street, Roslyn) for children ages 6-13.

Space is limited. All basketball clinic participants will be required to follow New York State Guidelines for Sports and Recreation. The Town will be re-evaluating safety guidelines through the summer as safety restrictions are subject to change. To register for the clinic, please visit
