The Kiwanis Club of North Shore is pleased to recognize the North Shore High School Student of the Month for October, Luca Recine, and November, Ella Begley. Ms. Julia Salat said, The Kiwanis Program recognizes 10 seniors per year who have made significant contributions to the North Shore community. The faculty over zoom nominates seniors who must have at least 50 hours of community service. The Kiwanis committee then selects each honoree and upon selection they are announced by the Principal at North Shore High School.”

“Luca is one of the most kind-hearted students I have encountered in my entire career,” said Physics teacher, Tyler Bianco. “Whenever there is a student who feels alone or ostracized by their peers, I can always count on Luca to be the first one to reach out as a friend. He is always looking to help those around him feel welcomed, supported, and accepted. The North Shore should be proud to have Luca as a valuable member of their community. Overall, Luca is an individual I can always rely on to do the right thing and I hope more students will follow in his footsteps! Congratulations!”

The honorees and families will likely be invited to a special dinner beginning in March where the honorees are presented with a plaque as a thank you for their outstanding community service. On behalf of the Kiwanis Club and the North Shore School District, we wish both Luca and Ella luck & success in all their future endeavors.
