November at the Floral Park Library

This November, in the spirit of the Thanksgiving season, the Floral Park Library will once again feature “Food for Fines,” the month-long program that waives fines up to $5.00 in exchange for non-perishable food donations to local food banks.

This month’s Children’s programs feature Tiny Tots Story Time; Evening Family Pre-school Hour with a Time for Kids; Circle Time for children eight months – pre-school age; Baby Start (9 – 17 months); Play Hooray on the Library lawn; Sponge Cakes with Create Programs by Lisa; and an always special art project from our friends at P[ART]y Art.
Teens can look forward to: Thanksgiving Pumpkin Dog Treat kits for community service; College Prep for Sophomores; Teen Crash Ukulele course and Nailed It! Thanksgiving edition; the Teen Executive Board meeting and Flashback Friday with old school board games.

For the Adults, weekly Chair Yoga via ZOOM; the Monday Movie Matinee (In the Heights); weekly ELL Classes; Medicare Made Clear with Medicare Advisor Joyce Poupko (ZOOM); Paint Like the Greats – Frank Stella and Van Gogh (hybrid via ZOOM and in-person); Unclaimed Funds workshop with NYS Controller’s Office via ZOOM; and LIVE at the Library: Chef Rob cooks Turkey Bolognese with Orecchiette. The Library Board meets in person on Wednesday, November 10th at 7:30 pm

The Made with Love Knitting and Crocheting group meets weekly Mondays at 6:30 pm and Wednesdays at 11:30 am.

On Wednesday, Nov. 17th from 11 am to 2 pm, representatives from Project Hope will be at the Library to share information on Domestic Violence Month.

And, on Saturday, Nov. 27, Boy Scout Troop 482 is selling Christmas wreaths on the Library lawn.
