The control of NYC mayor, gov. and state Legislature

The Island Now

This letter is prompted by the incredible letter by Lauren Block ‘s article “Cuomo’s energy plan too costly for New York.”

New Yorkers lives are controlled by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the cesspool in Albany known as the Senate and Assembly.

Let start with Bill.

New York Magazine interviewed Mayor Bill on September 4, 2017.

Iin 2013, you ran on reducing income inequality. Where has it been hardest to make progress? Wages, housing, schools?

What’s been hardest is the way our legal system is structured to favor private property.

I think people all over this city, of every background, would like to have the city government be able to determine which building goes where, how high it will be.

I think there’s a socialistic impulse, which I hear every day, in every kind of community, that they would like things to be planned in accordance to their needs. And I would, too.

Unfortunately, what stands in the way of that is hundreds of years of history that have elevated property rights and wealth to the point that’s the reality that calls the tune on a lot of development.

Hmmm. A “socialistic impulse” in “every community” such as Staten Island, The Bronx , Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn?

I don’t think so, Socialist Billie.

Do you remember how this PETA lover had tremendous concern about the horses in the Manhattan carriage business because of how they were being treated?

Turns out that the horses lived better than the homeless living in his homeless shelters. Why his concern for the horses?

In the New York Times [9/10117]: “As Mayor Closes In on 2nd Term, His Star Dims Outside New York” – Why?

Well one of the reasons given was he was…”fending off federal and state pay-to-play investigating involving his donors.”

Was it possible that a real estate donor wanted the property that the horses were housed in? You decide.

Now to our leader, Andrew.

He is clueless when dealing with the energy needs and jobs of New Yorkers.

He is in the pocket of the environment nut jobs. Upstate people need jobs and high paying ones. And all over the U.S. high paying tracking jobs are being created.

Not in New York State. He refuses to allow fracking to take place. An energy idiot.

Remember how his dad cancelled the Shoreham Nuclear plant.

One of the most state of-the-art plant designed. It was sold for $1.00 to Lilco.

We are still paying this billion dollar plant off in our PSEGLI monthly bill.

The reason I mentioned this is because Andrew is also going to shut down another nuclear plant in the state. It will be the only time in the energy history in America where a father-son tag team closed down nuclear power plants! Way to go, Cuomo’s!

Some comments in Lauren Block’s letter.

Gov. Cuomo’s goal is cutting carbon emissions by 80 percent by 2050! Who will remember this 33 years from now?

“But at what cost to New Yorkers whose electric bills are among the highest in the nation? According to a recent study…it will cost consumers more than $1 trillion.”

And the Republicans and Democrats in Albany are interchangeable…in their convictions and imprisonment for crimes.

The beat goes on.
