Stolen cars sold to NHP recycling center: police

A Brooklyn man was arrested in East Meadow last Wednesday for selling nine stolen vehicles as scrap metal to a recycling center in New Hyde Park, according to Nassau County Police. 

Detectives of the Nassau County Police 3rd Precinct said Eric Robinson, 46, of 140 Schaefer St. Apt. 2, was arrested on 7:50 p.m. in East Meadow on May 22,

Detectives said the nine vehicles Robinson sold had been stolen from different locations within the jurisdictions of Nassau County and New York City. 

Between October and November 2012, detectives said, Robinson filled out and signed the New York State form with false information listing himself as the owner of each of these vehicles when he sold them.  

Robinson is charged with two counts of grand larceny 4th degree, nine counts of offer false instrument and seven counts of criminal possession of stolen property 4th degree.  

He was arraigned on May 23 in 1st District Court in Hempstead.
