Nassau County Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a New York Institute of Technology student who they said has been missing since Feb. 24.

Police said 22-year-old Jasmine V. Joseph was last seen getting into a gray 2012 Nissan Altima outside her Syosset home to attend classes at NYIT’s Old Westbury campus.

At around 2:45 p.m. on Feb. 24, Joseph called her parents and said she would be studying at the college’s library, but police said she has neither been seen nor heard from since.

In a recent Newsday report, NYIT officials said Joseph has not been a student since last May, and Joseph’s family said they did not know for certain whether she was attending class, as they have not seen any of her grades.

Joseph was described as a 5-feet-4-inch Asian Indian, 120 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair, police said.

She was last seen wearing a green sweater, black jeans and black and white sneakers, police said.

Police initially identified the case as an unusual incident but later described it as a missing persons case.

The Nassau County Police Department’s Missing Persons Squad is conducting an investigation into Joseph’s whereabouts and urge anyone with further information to call 516-573-7347.
