In your Oct. 15 article, Plandome Road parking extended to two hours, the story implied the Manhasset Park District was aware of the new plan to extend parking times on Plandome Road.
At no time was the MPD consulted or asked to endorse any such proposal. To be clear, the MPD is not only against the plan but expects the new two-hour parking limit policy to exacerbate the chronic parking problem on Plandome Road.
Without proper code enforcement of limited-time parking, employees and non-residents will continue to take advantage of parking on Plandome Road, all day, with no fear of ticketing.
