Readers Write: Drastic changes needed in teaching drivers ed

The Island Now

Radical changes to drivers ed curriculum are needed.

We need to teach students to drive as if, every car on the road Is being driven by someone who is looking at their cell phone because they are.

Essentially, give yourself more space between you and the car in front of you because that’s the only space on the road that you can manage.

It also means driving the speed limit.

And drive consciously not distracted, without ever looking at your cell phones.

This might keep you alive in a very dangerous place we call, the road.
