Readers Write: Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton: a strong supporter of environment

The Island Now

Over the past several years that I have worked with and otherwise known Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton, it is very clear that protecting our environment in myriad ways is one of her top priorities.

Whether it be serving as a member of the Western Nassau County Aquifer Committee, being a panelist for a Groundwater Science Summit, passing legislation that bans fracking waste products or fighting for funding to replace septic systems with sewers in shoreline communities in her district, there is no doubt that Delia truly is a self-proclaimed “tree hugger.”

It is a privilege to work alongside Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton on many environmental projects. I have the utmost confidence in her as our representative at the Legislature that our best interests are being optimally represented in Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton.

I urge you to re-elect Delia to a fifth term as legislator to represent Port Washington and other communities in the 11th Legislative District.
