Readers Write: Post Office fails to deliver good service in G.N.

I am writing to share the extreme frustration that I and many of my neighbors feel. The postal service that we receive in Great Neck is quite frankly terrible.

Every week we deal with mail misdelivered or not delivered at all.

When we contact local managers, we get polite answers but never the satisfaction of having this problem solved.

Many of us receive time sensitive documents relating to finances, health, etc. We depend on having these documents in a timely manner. That just isn’t happening in Great Neck.

One of my neighbors, who has the Informed delivery emails, got no mail on Monday.   When she called to enquire about it, she was told it would be delivered on Tuesday.

No mail came on Tuesday. Not Monday’s mail, not Tuesday’s mail.

Every time there’s a new or substitute carrier, mail gets delivered to the wrong address or not at all.  Because of Informed Delivery we know what mail we should have gotten.

You are our last resort. We appreciate your assistance in this regard.
