Readers Write: Stop the nightmares

The Island Now

I had a dream—only mine was a nightmare—and it has been recurring ever since the onset of the current Great Neck Plaza mayoral election. I keep dreaming that Ted Rosen was elected mayor and that I have an early morning appointment to meet with him at Village Hall.

My meeting agenda includes asking for an explanation from Rosen for why he is in constant denial of the deplorable parking problem that plagues the village, as well as for why he broke his promise to the residents of the Welwyn/Shoreward area to provide a sorely needed residential garage under the post office—especially since he received government approval for the project.

In my dream, I arrive at Village Hall at 9 a.m. for my appointment with Rosen. The door is locked, and a large sign is posted on it: “OUT TO LUNCH—BUSINESS AS USUAL. TED ROSEN, MAYOR.”

Save me from my recurring nightmare! Save Great Neck Plaza! On March 18th, write-in Leonard Katz for mayor and Robert Farajollah and Siu Long Au for trustees.

Vote like your life depends on it because it does!
