Readers Write: Thanks for your library trustee vote

The Island Now

Thank you to all Manhasset residents who voted for my re-election as a Manhasset Library Board trustee.  The unprecedented absentee, by mail only, election conducted by the Manhasset School District also included the Library Trustee election per the governor’s executive order.

I serve as a library trustee and hold the board position of financial officer.  In this position I work with the director and the other board members to operate in a cost-effective manner while still continuing to introduce new technology, electronic materials, print materials, and programs that appeal to all members of our community.

The library is a very important institution to residents of all ages.  We strive to provide lifetime learning through our diverse and vast library collection.  Our library building offers a place to learn and also to experience a cross-section of services, lectures, events, and meetings on many topics.

The Manhasset Library started curbside pickup of its materials on Monday, June 29.  Library cardholders can make requests by phone or online.  We are happy to announce that the library will reopen on Monday, July 13.  Please visit our website, https://manhassetlibrary.org/, for further details.

Thank you for continuing to place your trust in me as a library trustee.  I pledge to uphold the interests of our community, in a cost-effective manner, with a view toward future requirements.
