Readers Write: Trump preferable to The Squad

The Island Now

I make reference to your editorial concerning “division” in Great Neck.

As I accepted Mr. Markowitz’s grudging admission and moved on – and as you acknowledged some appropriate circumstances in your editorial, you ought to have quit while you were ahead.

Your liberal bias, common to most media, took you to a place which had nothing to do with your original focus. (The editorial also infers an error on your part as one of the school board candidates Markowitz opposed, Nicholas Kron, in fact, sent his children to public schools.)

Of course, the president was “gauche” and inappropriate in his “go back” comments – but even that does not have me side with the two jihadists and two socialists composing “the squad” and likely to be amongst the factors on the Democratic side resulting in the re-election of Trump and possibly the retaking of the House of Representatives by the Republicans.

Yes – it would have been enough for him to say, “If you hate America so much, you’re free to leave,” and I will tell you why:

When someone says that Jews buy elections (the “Benjamins”); when someone derides only Jews for lobbying (via AIPAC); when someone brings with them from their childhood in Somalia, a nurtured and deep cultural and religious anti-Semitism; when someone proposes the boycotting of only Jews through BDS; when someone proposes BDS legislation only for Israel (Jews); when it is known that said BDS does not seek change in Israel but elimination of the Jewish State….

That person is saying, “Jew – go back.”

But where?

In our history – we have often been told to “go back” where we could not go, often on penalty of genocide.

No, Ms. Omar – we are going nowhere and yes – if you do not like our way of life here, you are free to go back to where your brethren have been murdering each other for centuries.
