Readers Write: Two strong activists running for Port school board

The Island Now

Please join me in voting for Emily Beys and Deborah Abramson-Brooks, two impressive activists who have collectively devoted their time, energy and passion to the students of the Port Washington School District for decades.

As a current trustee on the BOE, Beys has distinguished herself as an ardent and fair-minded champion of public education in Port. She came to the board after many years of involvement at the school level, bringing her broad view of the issues facing our district and a deep understanding of their impact on the entire community.

Abramson-Brooks has been a longtime advocate for the education of all children, serving on multiple task forces over the years, always putting “kids and community first.” I am confident that her background, dedication, and demonstrated commitment to education will make her an extremely effective BOE member.

Please support these two outstanding candidates, and vote “yes” on May 21.
