State Sen. Elaine Phillips last week launched an online petition to fight the recently proposed tax changes in Washington that would eliminate state and local tax deductions and cause an unfair “double taxation” if implemented.
“I am asking the residents of the 7th Senate District to sign this petition to fight against the recently proposed tax changes that would result in a disastrous overall tax increase on New York’s middle class,” Phillips said. “The hardworking taxpayers of our state are already struggling under a crushing tax burden and the elimination of state and local tax deductions will only increase already mounting financial pressure.”
