Sponsored by the Long Island Center of Photography, the lecture and slideshow presentation is set for 7 p.m. on Monday, June 11.

Member Randy Ilowite of Roslyn Heights said the public is invited to attend, and he has sent notices to the Manhasset-Great Neck Camera Club, Port Washington Camera Club and Huntington Camera Club in preparation for the event.

“Slide shows and lectures are another great tool on the shelf to help explore the limitless world of photography, almost like door-to-door inspiration,” Ilowite said. “Most photography enthusiasts visit museums, join clubs, read biographies and don’t go anywhere without a camera or cellphone to be ready when that burst of inspiration strikes. We hope this show by Howard Schatz will be the first of a continuing series of presentations by outstanding professional photographers, to inspire all those like-minded passionate photographers.”

Schatz’s works are exhibited in museums and photography galleries across the world and are included in innumerable private collections. He has received international acclaim for his work, which has been published in 22 monographs.

In New York, his work can be see in the Staley-Wise Gallery and HK Photographs in Manhattan as well as Lawrence Fine Art in East Hampton.

His work is also regularly featured in the New York Times magazine, Vanity Fair, Time, Sports Illustrated and The New Yorker.

In his most recent monograph, Schatz profiles the attendees at the Folsom Street Fair held annually in San Francisco and celebrates the world of kink and bondage, which he has covered for more than 25 years.
