Herricks has kept students moving despite the pandemic’s challenges. In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and New York State Education guidelines, Herricks physical education classes are practicing safe distancing while promoting fitness, agility, balance and self-awareness.

Students are spaced 12 feet apart during activities, with the focus more on individual skills rather than traditional team sports or activities. They explore dance and rhythms, fitness, mindfulness, outdoor pursuits, track and field, throwing underhand, kicking and target games.

Pictured are Denton Avenue School students completing various activities within their own personal space.
