They say to look both ways before crossing the street – not when you go to the bathroom.
But that’s exactly what one woman did to uncover a man who had allegedly concealed a recording cell phone in a woman’s bathroom pointing at a toilet, police said.
According to police, Daniel Perez, 20, a Queens resident, went to the Wego Chemical Group building at 239 Great Neck Road in Great Neck and hid a phone pointing to a toilet at 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 30.
A woman later went to the bathroom, found the phone, and played back a video of Daniel Perez recording himself as he was hiding the phone, police said. She then called the police.
After further investigation, police said two other female victims were recorded by the cell phone. Police said they then tracked down Perez to his residence and arrested him on Feb. 9.
He was arranged on Sunday, Feb. 10 at First District Court in Hempstead. Perez faces three counts of unlawful surveillance in the second degree, all of which are felonies.
According to a district court representative, Perez has pled not guilty to all three counts and is out on probation.
His next court appearance is Feb. 19.
