A Manorhaven staple that received acclaim for its menu has closed.

Mexican restaurant Mi Ranchito Bar and Grill, at 195 Manorhaven Blvd., closed over the weekend due to issues with negotiating its lease, according to a note posted on the restaurant’s door.

“Unfortunately, we have had unsuccessful negotiations to renew our lease and we have no choice but to close this location,” the note reads.

The restaurant was opened by owner and executive chef Israel Guzman, a native of El Salvador, in 2000, and was listed by Newsday as one of the best places for tacos on Long Island last May.  Newsday food critic Joan Reminick praised the “authentic” cuisine in a 2014 column for the paper.

The note on the restaurant’s door also thanked customers.

“We thank you for your support and patronage over the last 20 years,” the note reads.

Guzman also owns Mojito Cafe and Lounge at 109 Main St. in Port Washington, which opened in 2012 and shares a menu with the shuttered restaurant.

“We will continue to serve the community from Mojito Cafe,” the note reads. “Same menu, same ownership.”

Attempts to reach Guzman at his restaurant were unavailing.
