An MS-13 gang member living in Manorhaven was arrested for allegedly striking a man in the face with a glass beer bottle last month, according to a press release from the Nassau County Police Department.

According to the report, the victim was approached by Christopher Aguilar of 51A Edgewood Road around 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 18.

The victim, a 55-year-old male, was struck in the face with a beer bottle and then hit again while on the ground. Aguilar then fled the scene, the report said.

The victim suffered a laceration to the bridge of his nose and both a contusion and abrasion above his right eye. Despite his injuries, he refused medical attention.

Aguilar, who was “a known MS-13 gang member” according to the report, was arrested after an investigation by the county police. Manorhaven is the only village in Port not under the jurisdiction of the Port Washington Police Department.

Aguilar, age 33 and also known as “Oso,” was charged with assault in the second degree. He was arraigned on Monday at the District Court in Hempstead.

A spokesperson for the NCPD said he could not comment on Aguilar’s status in the gang and the extent of the gang’s activity in Manorhaven.
