Readers Write: Bill O’Brien, the right choice for trustee!

The Island Now

I want to take this opportunity to give my support to Bill O’Brien for Williston Park village trustee.

I’ve known Bill for several years and have been extremely impressed with his dedication to our village.

Bill has served as the Williston Park Little League’s vice president for many years and has worked tirelessly to improve all of our children’s baseball and softball experience.

When I was asked to join the little league board and ultimately become president, and knowing that there is a tremendous amount of effort required to do this job, I rapidly knew that I had someone who was one of the hardest working people I ever met by my side.

Bill is the glue that holds it all together and there is no doubt his hard work, calm demeanor, and extraordinary dedication will be exactly what all the residents in this wonderful village will get!

This made my choice very simple for leading our little league and it should be your choice for having him as one of our trustees!

I also wanted share with you great news about our Little League and the support we received from the current village administration.

As many of you know, a few years back we requested two grants from Jack Martins. The first has already paid for new equipment and the scoreboard. In addition to this, we will be commencing a project with the remaining funds to relocate the batting cage and place new bleachers in the outfield, including a canopy.

The second grant we submitted was for a large project to place a new turf infield at Kelleher Field.

We are excited to work with Mayor Ehrbar and Deputy Mayor Kevin Rynne, who have committed to complete this project with us.

We anticipate being finished prior to the beginning of the 2019 spring baseball and softball season.

These two individuals are truly committed to our village, and with the addition of Bill O’Brien to their team, I have no doubt they will meet the needs of our great village for years to come.
