Readers Write: Seeman supports Fishkind to replace her on Town Council

The Island Now

As you all may know already before you started to read this piece, I have decided to not pursue re-election; however, I know a great man to run in my stead and know he will be great for the job and will serve his residents well.

Peter Fishkind is running for Town Council in North Hempstead’s Fifth District.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself before I go into why I think Peter Fishkind is the right man for the job.

My name is Lee Seeman, and I am a longtime resident of the Town of North Hempstead and I currently have the honor to serve my fourth term as councilwoman for my beloved town.

I represent the wonderful communities of Saddle Rock, Saddle Rock Estates, Harbor Hill, Great Neck Estates, Great Neck Plaza, Russell Gardens, University Gardens, Lake Success, North New Hyde Park, Garden City Park, and Floral Park.

Now that you know a little about me, it’s time to shine a light on and inform all the residents of the town of an opportunity to be represented by a great community advocate and friend to us all that I am proud to endorse to succeed me after my term ends this year.

Peter’s impressive array of professional experience includes formerly working as a litigation attorney at a large law firm in New York City. He has also been an active member of various local community groups and holds leadership roles in a number of American Jewish non-profit organizations.

If elected, Peter’s drive for success and experiences will be an asset for all the residents of the district that I have had the privilege to represent.

Peter’s goals are to ensure the town government continues to operate in a fiscally responsible manner and maintains its AAA bond rating, that town services and programs are delivered to residents in an efficient and high quality manner, to serve as a proactive representative in supporting our local businesses and our commercial downtowns, and to be a transparent and accessible representative for every resident of the district.

Vote Peter Fishkind for Town Council on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Why I stand by this statement is multi-pronged and backed up by reputable facts and a reputable person who happens to be someone I view very highly.

I am lucky to call him a friend and am so glad to have met a man with such an impressive background and was so elated to hear of his candidacy for a position that I hold so near and dear to my heart.

Trust me. There’s no better man for this job. Just look at his background and, to top it all off, he’s the most trustworthy and kind person you’ll ever know. He’s a man of the people who will serve the residents of his district with kindness whilst meeting their individual needs.

Councilwoman Lee R. Seeman

5th District, Great Neck
