On Aug. 6, the Williston Park Neighborhood Watch Program in conjunction with Nassau County will be hosting a Narcan training session.
This extremely important event will take place at Williston Park Village Hall, 494 Willis Ave., in Williston Park beginning at 7 p.m. and lasting approximately two hours.
Those in attendance will be given the opportunity to learn: The signs of opiate overdose, how to reverse an opiate overdose, and new treatment approaches in dealing with opiate addiction.
The opioid problem is a national crisis impacting all communities (including Long Island) and individuals from all walks of life.

On Aug. 7, the Williston Park Neighborhood Watch Program will be participating in the National Night Out program (police-community partnership) for the 17th year.
Once again the program will involve residents of all ages with a “Children’s Parade for a Safer Williston Park”, beginning at 7:00 pm.
Ride your bicycle, tricycle, scooter, wagon or be pushed in a stroller.
The parade will start at Broad Street and Amherst Street and end at Kelleher Field Picnic Area.
Ice cream will be served at the finish of the parade. A police officer from the 3rd Precinct will be our guest speaker.
