Readers Write: Some work for the people, some for themselves

The Island Now

I am beginning this article with some big thoughts and am using the term ‘The Universe’ to mean all that exists.

It is said that the universe had no beginning: That it always has been. This is quite beyond our comprehension.

Even if it did have a beginning, there would have to have been a cause for that to happen and a cause for that cause, etc.

Then for the universe to have no boundaries.

If one came to the end of it, what would lie beyond? Again, far beyond our comprehension.

The Constitution of the USA begins: Our Creator has endowed us with certain inalienable rights, etc., etc.

This creator is that of our solar system. This great being who encompasses our entire solar system with his being including every atom of each of us and all else that we are.

Considering the vastness of the universe, our entire solar system would be no more than a tiny speck if anywhere near that much.

NASA says that there are billions of galaxies like ours each with millions of tiny ‘specks.’

As is said, the Greeks and Romans had their Gods (God of The Sea, God of Love, etc.). Eastern Asia had Buddha and there are many more.

But put all of these beings and God’s in relative perspective.

Jump to today: There are those now who have their God of gold, God of the golf course and the like.

There are also those amongst us with great knowledge. Some are considered to be initiates.

There was Pluto, Socrates, Michelangelo, Leonardo di Vinci and Buddha who I mentioned to name a few.

The list could go on and on in many fields of knowledge.

We’re it not for the likes of those mentioned and if it had been left up to the average human being, one can wonder if we would have the telegraph yet: you know, the one with the Morse code representing the ABCs and the letters S O S used as the distress signal: DotDotDot Dash Dash Dash DotDotDot.

Other things came later such as the teletype.

Jump to today where so much has changed from analog to digital. Strings of one’s and zeros. The original computers filled a large room and used huge amounts of electricity.

Those who today develop and manufacture what we now have in such small packages can well be considered to be initiates of knowledge and skill.

Among other things that have happened in these times is when President Obama by executive order (arm twisting) created the Affordable Care Act so that those needing help would not be bankrupted in the process.

This was an act for the good of humanity.

This has now pretty much been destroyed.

Some health insurance CEOs are making $35,000 or more per day as I read. ‘Later with the people.’

Clearly, greed and gold are their gods. Their actions do not require much skill or knowledge.

Those who weave the fabrics from which are made the clothes we wear have much more skill and knowledge.

Take  good look at what you are wearing. All around it is clear who works for the people and those who only ‘work’ for themselves.
