Letter to editor: VGN mayor unfair to landscapers

theIslandNow

I am disappointed that our mayor Pedral Bral who has a comfortable living income as a doctor deprives the American worker of his ability to support his family.
He is telling landscapers that they can’t work 160 days a year, every Saturday and Sunday, New Years, Martin L. King, Presidents, Columbus, memorial, 4th July, Veterans, Labor, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
This new law sets a precedent. What next? No construction or home repairs?
Will the law apply to the park district which landscapes on weekends? How about the school district which does maintenance on these days?
Yes, it can be noisy and dusty at times, but then I am reminded how lucky we are to have all the trees and open green space. To keep our village maintained we pay a price.

So a suggestion, when landscapers register with the village hand out a sheet of rules, hours, leaf blowers held low so not to blow dust, mowers to comply with the decimal law, etc.
If it rains on Friday, no work, Saturday and Sunday, no work, now we have a holiday on Monday, no work.
As a reminder, six days shalt thou labor and do all thou work. Some of these holidays will reduce the working-class family man ability to work only four days a week.
