Readers Write: Mark Birnbaum has hands-on experience, deserves re-election as Village of Great Neck justice

The Island Now

I am writing this letter in support of the candidacy of Hon. Mark D. Birnbaum for a further term as judge in the Village of Great Neck.

This is the first time in my life that I have written in support of any candidate for any office. I support Mark based on my close experience with him on the executive board of Temple of Israel of Great Neck while I was president of the temple and a strong personal friendship and admiration which developed from our Temple work.

Mark gets it done whatever the issue is and solves any problem presented to him. He is honest and honorable and can be relied upon to efficiently and timely complete any task assigned to him.

In addition to his voluntary work at Temple Israel, Mark is a former member of the Great Neck Housing Authority, former Chairman of the Great Neck Board of Zoning Appeals, has taught law-related subjects at Long Island University, C.W. Post and Mercy College.

In addition to his service to the community as Judge, Mark is s a practicing lawyer with 44 years of practical and “hands-on” experience and is admitted to practice in the states of New York and Florida, and before the New York-based United States Federal Courts and the United States Supreme Court.

As village judge of the Village of Great Neck for the last eight years, he has patiently heard and resolved the many cases brought before him, always with courtesy and a regard for the humanity of the defendants appearing in his court and the requirements of the law.

The residents of the Village of Great Neck deserve to re-elect Mark, who has always made it his business, as a Judge, to protect the interests of the residents without fear or favor and will continue to do so.

I urge your readers, who live in the Village of Great Neck, to get out and vote for Mark on [June 15 at Great Neck Village Hall.
