You may not read about this election in The New York Times and it should be noted that unpublicized elections count. Residents in the Old Village of Great Neck have one coming up.
Long-time Great Neck resident Mark Birnbaum is running for re-election for village justice.
He has held this position since 2013 and has done a superior job. He treats all residents who come before him respectfully and fairly. He knows how to listen and to hear.
Mark’s broad legal and governmental experience is well suited for this position.
Note that he has served the Old Village well in several elected and appointed positions for over thirty years.
Mark was the Commissioner of the Great Neck Senior Housing Authority and Chairman of the Great Neck Village BZA.
His government experience is extensive. In 2002 Mark successfully ran for the office of Village Trustee and won. Clearly, his appointments, elections and re-elections indicate the confidence the Great Neck Village residents have in him. He served as Trustee until 2013 when he ran for his present position of Village Justice and won that seat.
As a village trustee, he was appointed as Nassau County Police Liaison and in 2004 was appointed to be the Great Neck police commissioner.
Judge Birnbaum has lived in Great Neck most of his adult life and during that time has been an active and helpful participant in this community. Residents know that when they need help, he will respond.
He is a devoted father and husband. Mark is also an active member of Temple Israel in Great Neck and has had many leadership roles in that institution.
Experience counts and we will all benefit if we re-elect Mark Birnbaum for another term for Village Justice. I urge you to re-elect Mark Birnbaum on June 15 at The Great Neck Village HALL on Baker Hill Road.
