A reception for “My Best Shot”, a photography exhibit currently on view at the Port Washington Library, was held on Sunday, April 7 to celebrate the outstanding work of the twenty-one Photography Club of Long Island (PCLI) members participating in the show.
This exhibit, currently on view at the library in the community gallery on the 2nd floor from April 2 to 28, is a juried and judged show featuring the exceptional photography of club members on a variety of arresting subjects including landscapes, nature, animals, and street photography.
Harold Naideau, a noted photographer, artist, and educator, judged the show. His work has appeared in major publications such as Vogue and the New York Times Magazine, and he is an accomplished portrait photographer who has photographed numerous celebrities including Andy Warhol and Robin Williams.
Naideau said he was very impressed with the overall quality of the work in the exhibit. Awards were presented to the following photographers at the reception by PCLI President, Dave Wollin:
• 1st Prize – Susan Tiffen – Peaches and Cream
• 2nd Prize – Jeffrey Rothburd – Locomotive No. 40
• 3rd prize – Jeanne Millspaugh – Roslyn Pond
• Honorable Mention – Phil Sievers – Dungeon, Prague Castle
• Honorable Mention – Rich Froman – Driftwood Dog
• Honorable Mention – Stan Strauss – Antelope Canyon
