Robbers hit two TD banks in Nassau days apart

Two separate TD banks were robbed in Nassau County over the weekend.

The Nassau County Police Department reported the arrest a of Huntington Station man and a Rocky Point woman in a May 31 robbery in North New Hyde Park.

According to Robbery Squad Detectives, a man wearing a face mask entered the TD Bank located at 110 Hillside Ave. last Friday. He displayed a handgun, announced a robbery was taking place and demanded money from a teller, the police said.  The suspect pointed the handgun at the teller and the teller complied with his demand, according to the squad.

The man then fled the bank eastbound on Hillside Avenue to an awaiting silver Hyundai Accent operated by a woman, police said. Officers responded to the area and the vehicle was located at New Hyde Park Road and Lawrence Street.

David Freeland and Stephanie Boehringer were arrested, police said.

Freeland and Boehringer were charged with robbery and the criminal use of a fire arm, police said.  Both pleaded not guilty and were due in Mineola court June 4. He will be represented by the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County, but according to court records, she had no attorney on file.

The Nassau County Police Department also reported the arrest of a Queens man in a robbery that occurred Sunday in Floral Park.

According to Robbery Squad Detectives, Rajiv P. Ramjas, 33, entered TD Bank located at 372 Jericho Turnpike.  Ramjas approached the teller and passed a note demanding money, they said. The teller complied and the suspect fled westbound through the parking lot with an undisclosed amount of currency, according to the squad.

Ramjas was arrested a short time later on Pontiac Street in Queens Village, police said.

There were seven employees and two customers inside the bank at the time of the robbery.  There were no reported injuries.

Ramjas is charged with third degree robbery, police said.  He was scheduled to be arraigned June 3 at First District Court in Hempstead.
