The Parker Jewish Institute Foundation is hosting its annual gala on Thursday, Oct. 24 at Queens Museum in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Corona.

The Parker Jewish Institute Foundation’s annual gala is one of two major fundraisers, including a golf classic, which was held earlier this year. Proceeds from the gala will enhance the multifaceted network of programs and services for Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation patients and residents, as well as its community programs.

This year’s gala honoree is Robert Slinin, the Senior Vice President of Corporate Transportation Group, a Brooklyn-based customized transportation provider that was founded more than 30 years ago. Eduard Slinin, the president and CEO of Corporate Transportation Group, is this year’s gala chairman.

“The support of Robert Slinin as honoree, and of Eduard Slinin as gala chairman, provides a powerful impact on Parker Jewish Institute’s ability to provide superior services and care, with compassion and dedication, for the region’s older adults,” said Michael N. Rosenblut, Parker’s president and CEO.

Catered by Abigail Kirsch, the elegant evening features cocktails at 6:30 p.m. There will be live music by the popular country band, Barnstar!, a lavish sit-down dinner and an awards ceremony.

Since its inception in 1907 as a shelter for 25 indigent men and women, Parker Jewish Institute evolved into a nationally renowned 527-bed, non-profit center for the health care and rehabilitation of older adults, offering a comprehensive network of community health care programs. The Institute is a leading academic campus for the training of health care professionals.

Located at the border of Queens and Nassau counties, Parker’s campus provides a full range of care, including the Queens-Long Island Renal Institute. Offering a helping hand at every stage, Parker is also the majority member of AgeWell New York, a New York State authorized managed long-term care and Medicare Advantage plan, dedicated to delivering the level and scope of services needed to “feel well and live well” at home.
