Oyster Bay Autism Walk raises funds for autism awareness

The Island Now

Oyster Bay Town Councilman Thomas P. Hand recently joined with his colleagues in local government, Massapequa Park Mayor Jeff Pravato and Nassau County Legislator James Kennedy to support the Town’s 11th Annual Autism Walk held at John J. Burns Town Park.

The walk has helped increase awareness for autism and supports those on the spectrum, and this year, nearly $11,000 was raised to benefit the Fay J. Lindner Center for Autism & Developmental Disabilities, a dedicated facility that offers families comprehensive assessments, family support and updated information on autism research while also building awareness.
