Vivo Health Pharmacy, a specialty pharmacy that provides services at several Northwell Health hospitals and ambulatory facilities, has been recognized for its quality of patient care.

Vivo Health Specialty Pharmacy and Vivo Health Pharmacy at CFAM received accreditation by demonstrating compliance to national standards through the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), a nonprofit organization that has stood as a symbol of quality and excellence since 1986. Vivo Health Pharmacy at CFAM also received ACHC’s distinction in Oncology, one of only 14 pharmacies to receive this distinction in the country.

“Accreditation by ACHC demonstrates our organization’s dedication to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of patient care and performance,” said Onisis Stefas, Pharm.D, Northwell’s chief pharmacy officer. “This commitment aligns with our values as an organization.  A Distinction in Oncology differentiates the clinical services we provide from many of our peers.  We are proud of the accomplishments of our team and to be considered part of this elite group.”

In 2017, Vivo Health Pharmacy also received the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission Specialty Pharmacy accreditation, a designation bestowed to less than one percent of all pharmacies in the United States.

Vivo Health operates pharmacies at nine Northwell locations in New York. They also operate a 15,000-square-foot fulfillment facility at 225 Community Drive in Great Neck filling an estimated 700 prescriptions per day with custom software, productivity workflows, smart shipping solutions and two pharmacy robots capable of automatically and accurately preparing more than 340 types of medication.
