Seniors at Roslyn High School will be given the option to return to school in-person and full-time, effective Tuesday, March 16.

The news came in an email from the school’s leadership, including principal Scott Andrews, assistant principals Carol Murphy and Dave Lazarus, and dean of students Jennifer Yi, on Friday morning.

“We are thrilled to welcome you back full time if you so choose,” the email reads. “COVID-19 has had a major impact on your senior year and we are so very happy to have you back in your high school so that you can end the year with your classmates and create lifelong memories.”

Students will be required to complete a COVID screening process and adhere to all mandated rules to prevent spread, including masks. Extra help and club meetings will continue to be virtual, and lockers will not be available to use.

Seniors will not be required to return to classes in-person and full-time, and will continue to have the options of online remote only-learning and a hybrid of in-person and online learning. They will be required to take major exams in person, however.

No mention was made of specific senior events that would be held, but the school’s leadership said that they “look forward to providing the important Senior events in the most positive way permitted.”

“We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, as you begin your journey back to Roslyn High School,” the email reads.
