A Roslyn Heights man was charged with driving while intoxicated after allegedly hitting a father and son walking through East Hills on Saturday.

Robert Corey, 45, of Roslyn Heights, was charged with driving while intoxicated, two counts of third-degree assault and two counts of second-degree reckless endangerment.

According to Nassau County police, Corey was driving a 2015 Volvo northbound on Locust Lane near Fairfield Lane when he drifted across the southbound lane around 12:15 a.m. Saturday and struck a 54-year-old man and his 17-year-old son who were walking southbound on the west side of the street.

Corey called 911 and remained at the scene before being arrested.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital and are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Corey was released Saturday on $25,000 bond after his arraignment and is due back in First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.
