The Manhasset School District congratulates the 113 Manhasset High School junior and senior students who were inducted into the National History Honor Society of Manhasset on Nov. 19. This year represented the fifth annual induction ceremony for the society.

The induction ceremony was hosted by faculty advisers Jeremy Berman and Melissa O’Malia, and featured remarks from Honor Society president Alexander Glick and vice president Colin Holdreith.

Junior Jack Grygiel, who was named the recipient of the Dr. David Dorman Essay Contest, read his winning essay about Theodore Roosevelt during the ceremony.

The mission of the National History Honor Society of Manhasset is to bring together students to explore their historical roots as residents of Manhasset, as Americans and as members of the global community.

Upcoming events for the honor society include speaker events, movie nights, trivia competitions and the society’s ongoing project of electronically preserving every Manhasset High School yearbook.
